I mastered the web game, and I heard that the downloaded version was alot harder, so I downloaded it to see for myself. Sure enough, it was much harder. However, the downloaded game is more sluggish than the web version, and the graphics aren't as good. If you're looking for a harder version, download it (for me, just hte extra difficulty was worth the $20), but if you're a beginner, stick with the free web version.

This game doesn't need another 5 star review, but I'll add one all the same. I love this game because it's challenging and interesting. It's not one of those games where you just click around, but you need to strategize to pass the higher levels. Like the other reviews say, becareful, and make sure to play only when you have a few hours to spare, cause you won't want to stop!

Truly Addictive

I really truly cannot stop playing this game. I usually only play games until the free trial ends... except after this trial ended, I found myself thinking about the game... wishing that I were playing it. Replays of the game kept flashing to me in my sleep, so the very next morning at work, while sipping my morning coffee, I went and purchased the game. Bad move. Now I can't stop playing. Whenever I think no one is looking, I sneak in a minute or two of the game (thank god for the pause button).

And then, something even worse happened: I found the tournament mode (I don't think they had this in Jewel Quest I). And now, I must stop writing this review so I can get back to playing...

Fun, but hard

Even the beginning levels are pretty hard, but I'm not complaining because I like a challenge. The music got annoying though, so I turned off the sound.

Better than Jewel Quest I

I loved Jewel Quest I so when I saw they came out with Jewel Quest II, I downloaded the free trial right away. The concept is so simple, but yet the game is so much fun... this new version lets you drag gems sideways to refill some columns, and you can collect gold coins to pop the gems.

It's even got an interesting "challenge" feature that will grab a saved game off the web, and you can play against it.

If you like the demo (like I did, I suggest you shop around for a good price, becuase there are alot of sites that offer it.
