Pinochle

Pinochle is a multiplayer trick-taking game. Players are divided into two competing partnerships. Players score points by trick-taking and by forming combinations of cards into “melds.” Each hand is played in three phases: bidding, melds and tricks. The object of the game is to be the first partnership to score 500 or more points. If both sides reach 500 on the same hand, the side that made the highest bid on that hand wins the game.
